As of January 23, Philipp Hellwig will take over as Head of Purchase and Material Management from Olaf Krause, who retired at the end of 2022. Philipp Hellwig has been with GABLER Naval Technology since 2009 and can look back on 10 years of experience in purchasing. What awaits the 33-year-old graduate in business administration in his new responsibility?
„The importance of purchasing has increased significantly over the last few years. The current supply chain problems present also us with new challenges every day. Therefore, we focus on the permanent safeguarding and optimization of our supply chains and the quality of the components of our submarine mast systems, which has always been above the DIN standard. The on-time delivery and first-class function of the components and thus the safety of the crew at sea are top priorities for us in purchase and material management.
Personally, I am very happy about this professional opportunity. In our team of 12 people from purchasing, warehousing and quality assurance, short lines of communication, quick decision-making processes and the high level of professional competence of each person are in the foreground, and we all learn an incredible amount every day. This enables us to meet new requirements flexibly and quickly, and to break new ground in the process. Back then, before the lockdown, we spent a weekend digitizing the purchasing processes, in order to remain able to act from the home office. Experiences of success like that are simply fun and build team spirit. “
